I opened Speccy as well and compared the temperature jumps for the CPU on Core 1. For example from 28 to 42 and back again, within half a second. Without doing anything, individual core temps will jump up 10-14 degrees and then back down again. I'm seeing a similar issue with the CPU (i5 6600K 3.5GHz) even though I'm idling between 25-30c. the 'Med' and 'Low' settings result in this fan (that's being problematic above) reporting 0 RPM or disappearing entirely from the list in HWMon.Įach fan is plugged into its own fan header on the mobo (ASRock Z170 Pro4.) My case (FT05B-W) has two fan switches for the two 180mm Air Penetrator fans at the bottom of the case, one works perfectly however the other one only works if I set it to 'High'. So this fan should be at around 900 RPM and no more than 1200 however I see it jump from 900 to 500 to 4000 and so on. Using HWMonitor to monitor temps and I've found that one fan and the CPU shows erratic temperatures. I've just done a new build and I've finished installing Windows and all updates.
